Academic Gap Year Programs
Academic Gap Year at Tel Aviv University
The program is foundationally like a freshman year of college, as it is integrated with the rest of the yearlong study programs for coursework and activities. What sets it apart is the focus and attention on its participants. Students will have much closer access to faculty and supportive program staff.
Freshman Gap Year at Hebrew University
The Rothberg International School of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is pleased to introduce an innovative option designed for recent high school graduates entitled The “Hebrew and Israeli Culture Program.” This academic program will enable students on all Hebrew levels to achieve a high degree of fluency in Modern Hebrew through exposure to the language and culture of Israel.
Freshman Year of Engineering and Science at Technion
The Freshman Year of Engineering and Science is a full year program combining Hebrew language studies and cultural activities within the framework of a challenging math and science-based academic program.
Mechina Bar-Ilan University – Pre-Academic Program
The Mechina (preparatory) Program at Bar-Ilan University is an intensive year of study aimed at preparing participants for academic life in Israel. Mechina consists of intensive Hebrew language study (approximately 25 hours per week), followed by two academic semesters of 30 hours of intensive Hebrew language study plus Jewish Studies, mathematics or statistics, Israeli geography and government, and introductory level academic courses based on possible career choices.

Nativ, USCJ’s gap year program for Jewish high school graduates, is dedicated to creating and inspiring the Conservative Jewish leaders of tomorrow. Nativ, which means “path” in Hebrew, provides a unique opportunity to explore new directions on the journey to becoming a Jewish adult.
Aardvark Israel Programs offer Jewish students from around the world the opportunity to “MAKE ISRAEL YOURS,” by providing a tailor-made, modular curriculum, so students can build a customized experience in Israel. On Kol Ami participants learn about each other, while exploring Israel, volunteering, taking a wide variety of classes, and living together as a community.
